THIS WAS THE COOLEST VIDEO EVER! I've been getting overwhelmed, and sidetracked, and abandoned countless projects. I now have a basis to formulate my work flow that I actually understand. Thank you so much. If it wasn't 2 am I would be grabbing manga pages to recreate like you said for beginners right this second, but I've already learned such cool skills. I didn't even know I could copy layers over to other files, or the 3D modeling to create backgrounds with grids, and I never came across that speedline feature before. The coloring a bit advanced for me right now, but I am so happy there is a tool to help with the lighting which was something I was worried over. Seriously, this video was exactly what I needed to make so many different ongoing struggles just fall into place for me. So thank you again!

for drawing hands, I do a mix of constructing shapes and just.. hiding the hand entirely or drawing it in a way that most of the fingers are hidden lmao. works well for most generic poses, but gets harder for more dynamic stuff, so a lot of my stuff.. not very dynamic cause.. screw hands.. who needs 'em anyway

But if you're considering to grow in art it's a bad habit. Like, yes, you can COPY your 3D model, but not TRACE it. These are whole different things. The first one will help you to skill up and learn proportions, while the second one... ? It's just like taking coloring book, put it on the window and start tracing (except that tracing your own 3d does not violate other people's copyrights). Will you learn smth? No. I'd say this is the same kind of 'art' as coloring coloring pages. It's literally a mass product lol. Idk, personally for me it's like baking bread with a premade purchased dough. It just doesn't hit the same as knead the dough yourself, grow the damn yeast and bake!

This tutorial was so insanely helpful because I genuinely struggle with hair, same with clothes. I'm still trying to develop my art style and trying to find what works and doesn't, what I like or don't, etc. I still struggle with mouths on female characters because I like adding lip tints but I'll figure it out. I think my biggest issue right now is picking colors. I feel like I always pick colors that are way too vibrant and don't look good when I want to go for softer or darker color pallets but when I try to pick darker shades it feels like they are all the same tone or feel muddied. Any advice for color picking and pallet selecting?

I started looking at 3D models recently since I struggle so much with proportions. I also find it easier to get a reference because now I can just make my reference instead of using google for 20 minutes

Does anyone know why my light skin tones dried so quickly ? I used it in 1 drawing and it dried after that ( no cracks + i use copic paper )

I found you the time you made the break ... so its great for me to see a new video :-) The 3-Layer sounds helpful, I will try it out ... I mostly struggle with the transitions of this hair parts and the hairstrands around the ear ... whyever, it never fit together 😵‍💫

I used to draw traditionally and I am new to digital art. I would say that as a returning artist, it is useful as a tool but things like shading and anatomy cannot be cheated, it works as a good guide but that won't make you a pro artist. I am guilty with using "shortcuts" but that still isn't why I am an artist today

It's crazy coming into the visual arts from a musician background. People celebrate music being exponentially easier to make every year, but art being more accessible to make is bad? Its not like you arent making creative decisions constantly while using the 3d assets. Great vid.
